Košarka

Košarka is the Croatian term for basketball, a team sport in which two teams, typically comprised of five players each, compete to score points by throwing a ball through the opposing team’s basketball hoop. The game is played on a rectangular court, with a hoop elevated at a height of 3.05 meters (10 feet). Players can advance the ball by dribbling or passing, and points can be scored through field goals (two or three points depending on the distance from the hoop) or free throws (one point each). Basketball requires a combination of skills including shooting, dribbling, passing, and defending, and it emphasizes teamwork and strategy. The sport is governed by a set of rules established by organizations such as FIBA (International Basketball Federation) and the NBA (National Basketball Association), which promote fair play and safety. Basketball is widely popular worldwide, both as a professional sport and as an amateur activity, with a significant following in various cultures and countries, contributing to its status as one of the leading global sports.
