Košarka

Košarka, or basketball, is a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of five players each, compete to score points by shooting a spherical ball through the opposing team’s hoop, which is elevated 10 feet above the playing surface. The game is played on a rectangular court with a hoop at each end. Scoring can occur through field goals, which can be worth two or three points depending on the distance from the hoop, and free throws, which are worth one point each.

Basketball combines elements of athleticism, strategy, and teamwork, requiring players to exhibit skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive play. The sport is governed by a set of rules, primarily defined by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) or national organizations. Basketball is highly popular worldwide, both at the professional level, with leagues such as the NBA, and at the grassroots level, fostering community engagement and youth participation.
