Tennis

Tennis is a racquet sport played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). The game is played on a rectangular court divided by a net. Players use a stringed racquet to hit a rubber ball with the aim of landing it within the opponent’s court boundaries. The objective is to score points by making the ball land in the opponent’s court in such a way that they are unable to return it. Scoring is cumulative and consists of points, games, and sets.

Tennis is governed by rules established by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The game can be played on various surfaces, including grass, clay, and hard courts, each affecting the game’s playstyle. Major tournaments, like the Grand Slam events, contribute to the sport’s prestige and popularity worldwide. Tennis requires physical agility, strategic thinking, and mental resilience. The sport has a rich history and has produced numerous legendary players and champions.
